Sublimation Printing
What is Sublimation Printing?
Sublimation printing is a process in which special ink transitions directly from a solid to a gaseous state through heat and chemically bonds into materials or coated surfaces. This results in brilliant, long-lasting prints that cannot be felt on the surface, making it ideal for sportswear and promotional items, as it is breathable and high-resolution. However, it mainly works on light-colored surfaces.
Special sublimation ink is printed onto transfer paper and then pressed onto the material under heat (approx. 160–200°C) and pressure.
The advantages include top quality, extreme durability, breathability, photorealistic designs, and suitability for small production runs.
Advantages of Sublimation Printing
- Durability: Extremely resistant to washing, abrasion, and UV light, as the color is embedded directly into the material.
- Quality: Photorealistic, brilliant colors, even with gradients and the finest details.
- Breathability: The design does not add thickness, and the fabric remains water-permeable—perfect for sportswear.
- Feel: The print is not perceptible on the surface.
- Flexibility: Ideal for individual designs, names, and small quantities.
